Founded as a ceramic laboratory in 1932, Heany has been supplying structural ceramics and surface technology solutions to industry for more than 75 years.

We were awarded our first patent in 1934 when we developed our propriety ceramic material, Heanium®. Comprised primarily of high purity aluminum oxide, Heanium® is formulated specifically for use in industrial applications where wear resistance, corrosion resistance and electrical insulation are of prime importance. Heanium® has been used extensively in the manufacture of wire & cable, fiber optics, and textile applications. In addition to Heanium®, we offer Zirconia ceramic for premium applications.

Heany has also excelled in the development of thermal spray coatings providing services for the aerospace, automotive, film, chemical, diesel, steel, textile, and wire industries. Heany provides coating services using Wire Arc, Plasma, HVOF, and now Activated Combustion (AC)- HVAF. The AC-HVAF offers unparalleled premium metallic and cost effective coatings. Heany was recently awarded a patent for a diesel application using this new technology.
