Thermal Protection by Ceramic Coating

Tuesday, March 31st, 2009

CoatingsNo thicker than paper, a coating based ceramics could be used to protect cars, boats, or houses of intense heat (in a fire, for example). This material, developed by the Research Center of NASA was designed to protect the spacecraft during re-entry into the atmosphere, land, which can cause a rise in temperature of several thousand degrees. Known as PCC for Protective Ceramic Coating, it isolates the material on which it is attached, through his property to return almost all of the heat it receives, without undergoing degradation. Annual meeting of the German Ceramic Society

Thursday, March 26th, 2009

IMG_2082Over the past 25 years, the RWTH Aachen twice hosted the annual meeting of the German Ceramic Society. Now we invite the third time to a time in which this tradition actually arrested for science a profound structural change, both by the Excellence Initiative and other through large-scale investment experiences. In the wake of the close interaction with the Forschungszentrum Jülich and Aachen University of Applied Sciences offers at RWTH Aachen almost ideal conditions for Materials Research in all areas to maintain scale. GLUES k14 with metal ceramic bonding

Thursday, March 12th, 2009

k14Glue can be used for gluing the fibers for ceramics and metal. It applies also pledge to cover the surface fiber in order to secure the fibers before uprooting them from the surface at very rapid movement of gases. In the case of glue to the flat surface sheet steel, is mounted on the tray metal grid with a mesh of 5 mm, and only to the surface of fiber cement. (more…)

Ceramic fiber mats

Monday, March 9th, 2009

matMats are produced ceramic as an inorganic material, without the addition of binders, pre – annealed in the production process.

The use of ceramic mat:
- The initial product in the manufacture of tiered blocks, Z-blocks, straps, pressed lines, modules, cut and pressed fittings,
- To comply with adhesive, or kotwionych to the refractory walls of the carapace wyłożeń vault and stoves, furnaces to heat treatment furnaces wgłębnych, przepychowych furnaces, pokrocznych, furnaces industrial ceramics, non-ferrous metals, (more…)
